Getting Ready for #Art Battle

I am very excited and nervous to be going into battle.  Art Battle on May 10, 2014 in Shawville.  In preparation, I have practiced painting for the 20 minute time limit.

I decided to go to an Art Battle before mine so when Kate Aley, another PAA artist invited me to go watch her, I thought it would be a good idea.  How fun.  It was great to watch all the artists, their neves before going into battle and then view them painting and the final piece of art.  Here's some photos from May 5, 2014 Ottawa.

Congratulations to the winner Ame Papatse, and to all painters, including the final round: Peter Purdy, Kate Domina, and Sophie Nicholas.

Some photos from the event.

Getting inspired - Kanata Studio Tour

I always like to visit Studio Tours to inspire me.  Last weekend - May 4, 2014 - the Kanata Sudio Tour was on.  We only were able to visit 4 of the studios.  Here are some photos from Allison Faggan's Studio - Colored Pencil Artist - Beautiful work.  I loved her mixed media Virgins.  We had fun chatting with Richard Murphy - photography. Susan Goold's watercolors were a joy to look at and Judi Miller creates pictures using thread, a textile base and a sewing machine. Wonderfully inspiring!
