Beautiful Sunday in September

Pakenham, Ontario - what a lovely little town .  Such a beautiful day with two photographer friends - life can't get any better.  The cinnamon buns at the general store were delicious and a needed rest from the walk at the Atrium Flea Market.  It is also the last year for the Flea Market.  One of the vendors, Dan (nice meeting you Dan - finally), told us they sold the place that it would be closing at the end of October.

A great day to get a little bit of fishing in.

At the general store.

On the way back to the Ferry - had to take some pics of the old trucks and of course the horses.

View from the Quyon Ferry, the sunset was beautiful.  A perfect end to a great day.

Meet Marcus the Carcus

Just back from summer holidays and thought I would take a walk-about.  Here is Marcus the Carcus feeding a pigeon with a sign “Fight Hobophobia”.  At 49, he’s been on the street for over two years and seen most of Canada except for way up North.  Originally from down East, his family is still there but they are not close.  He has never stayed in a shelter and enjoys the snow more than the rain.  “Your sleeping bag gets wet and it takes a long time to dry out”.  He told me he might consider applying for ODSP when he was 60 and he didn’t want to live in subsidized housing where there were only welfare – “There’s too much hassle!”.
