Good News is always good to hear - Painting on Free Library

Just received a happy email thanking me:

I wanted to thank you for the beautiful paintings on my little free library. I love them.

The library is in the ground and people will stop by and borrow.

How lovely is that!
Thank you again!

Day 5 Artist Residency 2017

Before meeting up at  Art BrĂ»lant and Impressions in Shawville, we got our favourite art pieces ready to hang.  After dropping the artwork off we met at Val's for an artist talk with Geraldine Taylor.  Her belief that art is not necessarily created by an individual, but by a whole community.  She had wonderful things to say about artPontiac.  I believe we are very lucky to have such a wonderful organization in the Pontiac.

Peter Van Andrichem amazed us with a demonstration of chain saw sculpture techniques.  I am now the happy owner of one of his artworks.

We then left for Art BrĂ»lant and Impressions in Shawville for the vernissage.  Enjoyed the art and said our goodbyes.  See you all on facebook.

The exhibition will run July 21 – August 5, 2017
305 F Main, Shawville Quebec Wed-Fri 10-5 and Sat 10-3

Day 4 - Private beach by the River

Rob Hinchley is a wonder.  Two workshops in one.  The morning was spent doing monoprints and in the afternoon he gave us tips on plein air.  Everyone had a blast.  I planned to spend the afternoon painting a Raven on my truck, while others went to find the perfect spot to create.  It was a beautiful day and many of us went for a swim.  The water was wonderful.  At 4 pm we packed it up and headed to Dale Shutt's for another wonderful potluck and showing of our art we had completed at the beach.  We also got to visit Dale's studio to see her wonderful silk artwork.  The week is going so fast.  Only one more day to go.
